Media Ministry 3

If this is your first time here, then please read the vision first, and then the philosophy. Welcome!! 🙂

At this point, please think about what project you want to be part of, and please let me know if you wish to add any projects.

I suppose that outreach (in its simplest form) is something like this: Person -> Media -> Person. The media could be a spoken word, a tract, a podcast, or “anything” else really. So, this ministry is quite broad, but in the end focuses on bringing the Word of God to people that need the Lord.

I like to quote the following texts from Ellen White, about the actual message, and how to do it.

Seventh-day Adventists have been given a work of the most solemn import-the proclamation of the first, second, and third angels messages. There is no other work of so great importance. They are to allow nothing else to absorb their attention.
– Ellen White, Testimonies to the Church, vol. 9, p. 19

Let every Seventh-day Adventist ask himself, “What can I do to proclaim the third angel’s message?” Christ came to this world to give this message to His servant to give to the churches. It is to be proclaimed to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. How are we to give it? The distribution of our literature is one means by which the message is to be proclaimed. Let every believer scatter broadcast tracts and leaflets and books containing the message for this time. Colporteurs are needed who will go forth to circulate our publications everywhere.
– Ellen White, The Southern Watchman, January 5, 1904

And not holding back either:

Unvarnished truth must be spoken, in leaflets and pamphlets, and these must be scattered like the leaves of autumn.
– Ellen White, Testimonies, vol. 9, p. 231

I believe that we can ask for the Latter Rain now:

The descent of the Holy Spirit upon the church is looked forward to as in the future, but it is the privilege of the church to have it now. Seek for it, pray for it, believe for it. We must have it, and Heaven is waiting to bestow it.
– Ellen White, Evangelism, p. 701 (1895)

The great outpouring of the Spirit of God, which lightens the whole earth with His glory, will not come until we have an enlightened people, that know by experience what it means to be laborers together with God. When we have entire, wholehearted consecration to the service of Christ, God will recognize the fact by an outpouring of His Spirit without measure; but this will not be while the largest portion of the church are not laborers together with God.
– Ellen White, Christian Service, p. 253

So, in conclusion, as long as we (all those in church) do the work (proclaim the three angels’ messages), God will be faithful, and send the Holy Spirit so that we can proclaim the Loud Cry to its fullest.

The third angel’s message is to be sounded by God’s people. It is to swell to the loud cry.
– Ellen White, Manuscript Releases, vol. 9, p. 212

My name is Jarno, and I’m the “leader” of the media ministry. But to be honest, I prefer to see myself as a coordinator only. Having said all that, someone has to make the final decision, so that means me. I’m responsible for any content that we put out.

I fully rely on you to keep me in the loop, and to correct me if I’m wrong.

I do not want to manage every single thing that goes on. I don’t have time for this. But if you’re stuck, come and talk to me.

Communication now is primarily via WhatsApp, but also via email (if required). I’m not actually on WhatsApp believe it or not, so please talk to Arielle instead. She knows as much as I do when it comes to the media ministry. You can talk to me at church, but I prefer it if you do this during the 6 days that God gave us.

I will do my best to update this document as often as I can, so you can always see what to do next, etc.

Zoom meetings are every first Sunday of the month at 7 pm. Links will be posted on WhatsApp.

Like you, I’m a volunteer, and I do this for fun. So, let’s have some fun together. 🙂

Any questions? Please let me know.

The last message of mercy to be given to the world is a revelation of His character of love. The children of God are to manifest His glory. In their own life and character they are to reveal what the grace of God has done for them.
– Ellen White, COL 415, 416 (1900)

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
– Revelation 12:11 (KJV)

Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
– Luke 12:8-9 (KJV)

Firstlight / Sermons

Goal: Record videos, and offer to Firstlight.

Participants: Clayton, Tuki, Eroni, Xenia

Videos for Firstlight can be relatively “raw”, as Firstlight does their own editing as well. So, maybe an intro (name/topic), sermon (with name of speaker in a bar), and an outro (Waitac website, credits of speaker, and a fadeout.Toggling between two camera angles is also very cool. And the same for slides and pictures, etc. Good audio quality is a must.

I would recommend at least a 2 week buffer between recording, and uploading. We need to allow for guest speakers, and also for any stuff-ups with the recording. Worst-case scenario we may have to record the sermon again, etc.

Clayton = speaker / content creator
Ronalyn = producer
Tuki = director (which includes operating one camera)

  • Create Firstlight videos [WF]

Waiting For

  • Fee approval [Clayton]
  • Videos [Gary]

Some audio problems.

21 April = David, State of the dead [Firstlight sermon]

When would people be available for interviews?
We are looking at filming interviews maybe Thursday 30th (afternoon) and Friday 31st and may be Sunday 2nd morning if needed.
– James

  • Raid Clayton’s garage for tracts. Make a “tray” for all tracts

Waiting For

Church Foyer Books

Goal: Move books from the cabinet to the front door table. Every Sabbath.

Participants: Jarno, Arielle, Herbert

The books (and holders) for this are stored on the Waitac cabinet in the main room. If that’s running low, please contact Jarno, Arielle, or Herbert.

Apparently, another cabinet has been ordered and is on its way.

  • Put relevant books on the church foyer table on a regular basis. [Jarno, Herbert, others?]

  • Decide on what tracts to bundle
  • Order tracts from ABC
  • Hand out tract bundles

Goal: Get everybody involved in doing something for God.

Participants: Jarno, Arielle, Gail, Trent, Morgan, John

At this writing nearly twenty thousand colporteurs are in service throughout the world, but this number is far from adequate to meet the need. God calls for message-filled books, magazines, and tracts to be scattered everywhere like the leaves of autumn. As church members unite with literature evangelists in spreading the good news, the task will be accomplished.
– Ellen White, The Publishing Ministry, p. 5.2

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
– Romans 10:15 (KJV)

Most likely updated Invitation tracts (with a link to Firstlight), but maybe also Mark of the beast tracts.

Costs about $70 per 1,000 tracts. (Provided we buy more than 3,000)

What about the men’s group?

  • Decide on tract (Invitation tract)
  • Work out list of streets near Waitac
  • Ask the men’s group if they’re interested in helping us

Waiting For

  • More people to join

Revelation Crash Course

Goal: Record revelation crash course (50 minutes) for use on Firstlight (?), the website, and also for small groups of 12 people at a time. The idea is to give an overview on the book of Revelation, and share it with people that have no idea what Revelation is about. This can be recorded live as a sermon for the church, and then re-used, etc.

Participants: Jarno, Neetheam

I’m thinking of Clayton, Hugo, and Neetheam. Eroni wants to be part of the “one accord” part as well.

  • Organize “one accord” meeting, e.g. are the 144,000 literal or symbolic, etc.
  • Outline what we’re going to say (< 50 minutes)

  • Schedule a date

Waiting For
