Testimony – Paula

My name is Paula. I tell my story, how I came to this church. How I came to know the Lord Jesus. How, I came to know about the Sabbath day.

I’m born in New Zealand, in 1985. My parents are born here. My grandmother came from Holland and my grandfather came from Fiji. My mother used to go to the catholic church. I was christened in the catholic church, a year old.

In 1990 I was 5 years old. I went to Ranui Primary School. I was in a special needs class at school. I was very shy. I have learning difficulties. I need a lot of things explained to me.

When I’m fifteen, I dreamed to be an actress. I watched Disney channels and Nickelodeon, I wanted to be an actress, I went to Helen O Grady drama class, I did play on stage.

We left the church for a while. Then came back when I was a 17 years teenager, because I needed my sacraments. I came to be an altar server, helped the priest to put things on the altar, and helped train other altar servers.

In 2005. I was 19, I went to a Jesse McCartney concert. He is my favourite singer. I enjoyed the concert.

In 2006, I had a agent in August Models. I worked as an extra in Shortland street and secret agent man, and Hercules the movie. I had a good time to do this. I saw myself on t.v.

When I was 20 years old, I got struggles and depression.

In 2010, I was 26 I was feeling troubled. So, I called out Jesus to help me with my struggles with depression and suicide thoughts. I pray to Jesus can you hug me. I went to sleep. I saw Jesus in my dream, and he hugged me, he answered my prayers. I woke up. It was healing for me and, know that my life will change.

In 2011 God told me to write music. I started to write songs, and that made me happy. I never did that before.

I was seeing a counsellor to talk to someone, about my problems. She asked me what I want to do, I said, I want to be a singer, songwriter. She got me to meet Marcas at zeal in Henderson and he helped me to put music to my songs. In 2012 I wrote eight songs and an album in 2013. In 2014, I did two music videos on YouTube. I showed my friends and family and other people too. They enjoyed it too. It gave me encouragement and gives me hope. To look to the future. Also, I have a singing teacher, to help me with my voice. God said help is on your way.

We had to leave and move out of the house were living in and our neighbour told us. She is leaving too. I really like her place and, I prayed to God that someday I want that house. We moved out and lived on a bus for 5 weeks. We heard from Housing NZ that they had a house for us. Gave us the address and have a look at it and if we like it we can have it, and it’s the house next door that I liked. God answered my prayers. We got the house. A big house. That was amazing. It was a blessing.

We were going to the Catholic church in Massey for years. I was altar serving for years. I wanted to focus on singing. I have a piano teacher her name is Maria and my counsellor Linda knows Maria. God is guiding me.

Maria told us about channel 26 Firstlight. We started to watch Firstlight and came to know that Saturday is the Sabbath Day of Rest, not Sunday. We were wondering about that before, now we know for sure. Straightaway, I know it is true, my life has changed.

Maria asked us to come to her church Waitac three angels church, to hear God’s message, that he is coming soon. God helped me to get ready for Jesus is coming soon.

John Chp 14 1-3
Let not your heart be troubled : Ye believe in God, believe in also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions : If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also.

It gives me less stress and hope for the future. I like to help others to come to know the Lord.

In 2016, I am baptized.

I listen to Firstlight christian music because its keeps me calm and have peace. I need to be careful what I listen to, music and on t.v. It’s confusing, with anger and violence, and movies. I pray for celebrities to hear God and to help them in their life.

God wants us to help other people, to encourage each other, this is the time to send messages and tell others not to be afraid.

Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Trust in God, He is the only way. Without God, I can’t do anything.

Revelation Chp 21v4
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain for the former things are passed away.

I watch Firstlight, Pastor Doug Batchelor, He is very good. And I believe that Saturday is the Sabbath, it’s true. I like to meet him one day. I pray to God that I could meet him. And I heard that he is coming to New Zealand. I got a chance to meet him. I got a photo of him and his wife. That was a blessing.

And also I meet John Bradshaw and Doug Hurley. They are very good speakers. It gives me encouragement in my faith.

I would like to have a husband one day. Who loves the Lord too.

I encourage people to watch Firstlight channel 26 and read the bible and study the bible, and share your faith with others.
